How Bookings & Commission Work on Curated

The full journey from “I want to go there” to “You’ve been paid.”

Let’s demystify the tech-y part. This is what happens behind the scenes when someone books using your Curated recommendations.

Step 1: A traveller discovers your content

They might find you via:

  • Your social channel

  • A Curated search (destination, vibe, occasion)

  • A space page where you’re featured

They click through to your post on Curated where they can discover your stay, save for later or book now.

Step 2: They book through your post

Within your post, they add dates to the booking widget to see live availability and pricing. They select their room and rate through Curated before booking directly through the hotel’s website.

Step 3: The booking is recorded

Once the guest completes their booking, the space confirms it in their dashboard and in Curated we log it as:

  • Which creator the booking belongs to

  • Which space and dates

  • Total booking value

You’ll see it appear as “Pending” in your Bookings/Commission view.

Step 4: The stay happens

After the guest checks out, the hotel confirms the booking, including:

  • Final price after any changes

  • Whether the guest actually stayed

Step 5: Commission is approved & paid

Once confirmed, your commission moves to “Confirmed” and gets included in the next monthly payout.
